SWAMP YANKEE DO’INS

At Richmond Country Club

April 23, 2013

We welcomed Richmond police chief Elwood Johnson and Caroline Garelick for a presentation about the Chariho student mentoring program which includes students in the elementary and high schools. They need volunteers who are willing to make a one year commitment of an hour a week, usually at the school.

Theresa reported that we raised between $7000 and $7500 at the Prom. Last year we raised $5800 but with more attendees. The live auction brought in $3200 and the raffle contributed $1000. A great job, especially by Theresa and those who contributed auction items, and by Jeanne, who wasn’t shy about hustling raffle tickets.

Don’t forget the weeding and clean up party for the Chariho courtyard on Saturday, April 27th, at 9:30. Dave will host a barbeque at his house afterwards at 1:00. BYOB. Dave’s bar is dry. If you can contribute some eats that would be nice too.

Rick is on vacation for the first two weeks in May so call Jen at 525-1857 if you cannot attend those meetings.
