      SWAMP YANKEE DOIN'S

                                       June 30, 2009

The last meeting of the old fiscal year began with a lot of happy bucks for graduations, and a fine for Pvt. Gray having his picture in the paper.

Scott and the new board want to emphasize new membership and more involvement in hands on projects. Also they want to have more million dollar meals and fun events.

Next week we’ll have a million dollar meal at the strawberry booth. Try to get there at 3:00 so we can have the work done in time for food and drink. Since we no longer have an active package store owner in the club it will be BYOB this year. Remember to bring whatever you promised Rita you would. The booth doesn’t look too bad this year so it may only need a good scrubbing.

On July 14th we will meet at the Golf Pavilion, located on Route 3 near Exit 1. It will be the District Governor’s visit so officers and directors need to be early and we should be neat and tidy.

Gil Barnes estimates that we will make our goal from the golf tournament. Nice work given the economy. The final number depends on the receipt of checks.

The new sergeant-at-arms is Jeff Dodge. He’s the guy you call if you aren’t able to make a meeting. His number is 401-536-2013.

On July 18th there will be a 100th anniversary meeting in Foxboro. The President of Rotary International will be coming from Sweden to attend. Jeanne has the details.
